Industry and workforce development programs

Dedicated to developing a quality, sustainable and resilient health and community services sector!

CheckUP’s industry and workforce development programs lead a range of initiatives in sector capacity and capability building, innovative workforce planning, and education to employment programs.

In collaboration with industry these programs develop targeted solutions to strengthen businesses and to attract and build a capable and sustainable workforce to support responsive health and community services in Queensland.

We work with schools, businesses, industry partners and government stakeholders to provide advice about industry directions, training solutions and employment opportunities. Promoting and sharing innovative ideas through our events, networks and communication channels.

Our work is informed by health and community services policy, reform agendas, changing models of care, workforce models and funding programs.

NDIS Business Connect

NDIS Business Connect is a sector capacity and capability building project supporting new and existing sole traders and small businesses in the disability sector. We work in partnership with industry, consumers and relevant stakeholders to identify and respond to challenges and opportunities, share information and resources, and support a collective advocacy voice.

The Industry Skills Advisor for health and the Industry Skills Advisor for community services engage with employers, small business and industry stakeholders to provide high-quality, evidence-based industry advice and intelligence about current and emerging industry directions, regional skill needs, training solutions and employment opportunities.

CheckUP is the Industry Workforce Advisory organisation for the community services, health and First Nations health care and social assistance industries, providing tailored workforce planning assistance to small and medium employers, enabling them to address workforce challenges, diversify their workforces, and support workforce and productivity growth.

Gateway to Industry Schools Program – Health

The Health Gateway Project links schools with industry partners to introduce students to the many career pathways and job options available to them within the health industry. It helps facilitate learning opportunities and experiences for both students and teaching staff.

The CYO Health Career website has been designed for high school students, VET Coordinators, Career Advisors, Guidance Officers, and parents to highlight the many job opportunities which are available within the health sector that can be achieved through vocational education and training pathways.
