Online training

CheckUP responds to the emerging needs of the rapidly evolving health and community services sector, developing a skilled, competent and professional workforce. We have developed, coordinated, and run training programs that have varied in size and content. Our current online training programs include Going all OUT for Outreach, Access for All, Genomics for GPs, and Mental Health Skills Training (with Larter Consulting).

Access for All

Access for All is an online course that aims to improve disability awareness among health providers and increases understanding about the barriers people with disability experience when accessing healthcare.

The project was funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services

Going all OUT for Outreach

Going all OUT for Outreach is a suite of micro-credentials aimed to to ensure that health providers have the appropriate knowledge and skills to respond to the complexity of Outreach work and can confidently identify skill needs and provide upskilling to the local workforce and supervision to students.

The program was funded by the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training (DESBT).

Genomics for GPs

The Genomics for General Practitioners education program is a collaboration between CheckUP, Queensland Genomics, the Genomic Institute, Queensland University of Technology, and the Genomics Primary Care Advisory Group. The initiative was funded by Queensland Genomics. The program aims to provide relevant information about genomics medicine to assist General Practitioners in the implementation of genomics into their everyday practice.

Mental Health Skills Training

The Mental Health Skills Training (MHST) package was developed by CheckUP in collaboration with Larter Consulting. It is designed to equip GPs, practice nurses and mental health clinicians with a toolbox of evidence-based material and techniques to allow them to practically assist patients with a broad spectrum of mental health presentations. The training is comprised of two levels.
